Supt Griffith presented information on Right Sizing NFV – facility use and grade-level building assignments. Challenges NFV faces today are class-size imbalance, facilities, budget, transportation, and education of students. A solution to these challenges is the closing of the Fayette Elementary with the possibility of moving to a grade-alike building model. These grade-alike building model options include K-3 at current buildings & 4-5 at Valley, K-3 at WUE & 4-5 at Valley, and K-2 at WUE & 3-5 at Valley. Supt Griffith also reviewed the results of the surveys that were submitted – these results will be put on the website.
Community members were given the opportunity to make comments on the options and ask questions. These questions and comments will be listed on the website.
In closing Vice-President Ahrens thanked the group for their comments and noted that there will be another work session for comments next Monday at the Valley campus lunchroom and next Wednesday at the Fayette Elementary lunchroom – both will be at 6:30 pm.
No action was taken during this work session.
Motion to adjourn at 7:50 pm. Schlawin/Schultz Motion Carried 6-0
