BOARD OF EDUCATION 

Minutes, Special Meeting of the North Fayette Valley Community School District Board of Education, 5:18 p.m., Tuesday, October, 29 2019 in the High School Library, 600 North Pine Street, West Union, IA 52175.

 

NFV Board of Education:    Dawn Daughton,Carolyn Roys, Eileen Schlawin, and Marc Rue, Absent: Julie Ahrens, Stacy Cummings, LaCreasha McNeese

 

Others:            Superintendent: Duane Willhite, Business Manager Sue Thoms, HS Principal Todd Wolverton

 

Board Member Daughton called the special meeting of the NFV Board of Education to order at 5:18 p.m.  

 

Board members present:  Daughton, Roys, Rue, Schlawin. Absent: Ahrens, Cummings, McNeese.

 

Motion to approve the agenda. Roys/Schalwin.  Motion carried 4-0

 

The Board approved going into closed session per Iowa Code, Section 21.5(e) to conduct a hearing to suspend or expel a student.  Schlawin/Roys Roll Call Vote Ayes: Rue, Schlawin, Daughton, Roys Nays: none Motion Carried 4-0.

 

The Board went into closed session at 5:22 p.m. 

 

The Board came out of closed session at 5:40 p.m.

 

The Board approved the expulsion of the student for the remaining 2019-20 school year.  Schlawin/Roys Roll Call Vote Ayes: Rue, Schlawin, Daughton, Roys Nays: none Motion Carried 4-0.

 

Motion to adjourn  Rue/Roys. Motion carried 4-0.

The board adjourned their special meeting at 5:48 p.m.
