NORTH FAYETTE VALLEY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOARD OF EDUCATION
Minutes, Special Meeting of the North Fayette Valley Community School District Board of Education, 6:00 p.m., Monday October, 21 2019 in the High School Library, 600 North Pine Street, West Union, IA 52175.

NFV Board of Education: Stacy Cummings, Dawn Daughton, LaCreasha McNeese,
Carolyn Roys, Eileen Schlawin, Stacy Cummings, and Marc Rue, Absent: Julie Ahrens

Others: Superintendent: Duane Willhite, Board Secretary Carole
Nading. Public: Gracie Kuhn.

President Cummings called the special meeting of the NFV Board of Education to order at 6:04 p.m.

Board members present: Cummings, Daughton, McNeese, Roys, Rue, Schlawin. Absent: Ahrens.

Motion to approve the agenda with the addition of item #6 – Set Date for Student Discipline Hearing and Item #7 – Set date for November Regular Board Meeting. Schalwin/Roys. Motion carried 6-0

President Cummings opened the Public Hearing on the Proposed Terms of the Conveyance of and Easement to White, Solar, LLC. at 6:05 p.m. Brief discussion was held by the board. There were no verbal or written comments from the public. President Cummings closed the Public Hearing at 6:07 p.m.

Motion to approve the Conveyance of and Easement to White Solar, LLC as presented. Daughton/McNeese. Motion carried 6-0.

A closed session will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. in the NFV High School Library, 600 North Pine Street, West Union, IA to conduct a hearing to expel a student as provided in Iowa Code Section 21.5 (e).

The board discussed moving the regular November 11, 2019 meeting to an alternate date based on the November 5, 2019 School Board Elections and the county canvass of votes not being completed by the November 11th meeting. It was decided to remain holding the regular meeting on November 11, 2019. Following the official canvas of votes new board members will be sworn in by the Board Secretary and a designated witness. The board will hold their Annual/Organizational Meeting at the regular December 9, 2019 board meeting.
Motion to adjourn Rue/Roys. Motion carried 6-0.
The board adjourned their special meeting at 6:15 p.m.
