- IASB Day on the Hill – Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019 I am registered to go down. We start the day with some lobbying tips and background information, then to the Rotunda to try and see our reps. In past years i’ve sat in on some committee meetings that they are attending, can be interesting.
- Old Business
- Representation for Facilities Cmt – Eileen and Alex were nominated to serve on this committee last month in absentia. We need to confirm if you can serve or get other volunteers. First Meeting Jan. 22, 6:30 pm
- Capital Projects Budget review I have created a planning spreadsheet for the PPEL and SAVE funds for the next 5 years. This includes estimated revenues for those years, the future payments for bus leases and our sales tax bonds, my budget estimates for routine maintenance and technology. This way the board and the cmt can see what funds we have to work with each year. I put a few ideas on paper just to get conversation started.
- New Business
- Policy Revision The first four policies are reactions to the availability of Cannibus oil (CBD) There is a chance that an employee or student could be legally using CBD and test positive for THC, which is the mood altering compound of Marijuana. Because CBD is illegal to use by federal law, we need to prepared for handling a positive drug test due to legal in Iowa CBD use. This is especially concerning for bus drivers due to the random drug test for them and the safety issues involved in drivers under the influence of ANY drug that may alter their ability to drive. Suggested edits are in red on the policies in the packet. First Read

- Student Ex-officio Member of the board We have 9 applicants, I sent their apps to you and we should now approve a student member, keeping in mind they can’t be seated till next month after the second reading of the policy 202.6
- Approve New Server This is a $14,000 server to replace some of the 10 year old servers we currently use. Bruce sees benefits of 1. Replacing 3 older servers with one, 2. Host more of our virtual apps on the new server. 3. Allow us to automate imaging computers without having to physically touch them. He and Alex have plans to repurpose those older three servers, so they won’t be going to waste
